The Storm

Winds were high, very high! The cracking tree limbs  and loud thuds could be heard as they crashed to the ground.  Wind whistle around the house as rain swept sideways across everything. Lightening flashed startlingly and thunderclaps were deafening! Electric went off! I listened for that horrid sound that people described when a tornado was on the ground...it never came, thank God!

We saw lawn chairs, trash cans and debris flying through the air, hoping they would not  do damage. Does any of this sound familiar to you, especially if you have been through it? The storm was...Scary!

Kitty hid under the bed, Lovey and Amanda ran to their crates and huddled in back of them while I was left alone to watch and protect. Through it all, we came through unscathed! But we can't say the same for outside. Here are just a few pics that certainly does not depict it all!

These fell in the front yard

Sorry about the quality of pics... shot in misty conditions

The above pic was in the back side yard

This was in the lower part and the limb below was in the front too

This limb below fell from the neighbor's tree into our yard... yep we will have to remove it...always do!!

The driveway had all kind of debris, including the neighbor's trash from a flying trash can full of trash, not shown!

Thank you for visiting and for your words of concern, we appreciate them more than you know. We wish you a safe and pleasant Day!

  3. Glad you are okay. Mommy has weathered lots of tornadoes and high winds in her lifetime, unfortunately (oh the harrowing stories she could tell!) and she always sends prayers to those who are affected. Lots of people (and animals) crowded into the family fruit cellar many times when she was growing up in Missouri.

  5. I am so happy that all of you are okay. I'm sure it was very scary! Living in Southern California all of my life I have never been in such a storm. Earthquakes but no tornadoes.
